THE WOMEN IN SCIENCE LECTURE & LUNCHEON IS AN ANNUAL EVENT FOR WOMEN, FEATURING A LECTURE BY A LEADING, INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED, FEMALE SCIENTIST.
IT BRINGS THE FIELD OF BIOLOGICAL AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH INTO THE LIVES OF WOMEN IN THE COMMUNITY BY ENGAGING WITH WOMEN SCIENTISTS IN THE REGION. IT IS THE CENTERPIECE OF A NEW INITIATIVE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF LAUSANNE TO FOSTER STRONGER INTERRELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN MEMBERS OF THE BROADER COMMUNITY AND IMPORTANT RESEARCH IN GENETICS AND BIOLOGY, WHICH IMPACT HUMANITY.
The 2016 Women in Science speaker will be Dr. Johanna Joyce, from the Department of Oncology at UNIL and the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, part of the Swiss Cancer Center of Lausanne, with appointments at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Weill Cornell University Graduate School of Medical Sciences (New York).
